Rapid-setting Additive For Portland Cement Products
(Type PCS-II)
Application
Rapid-setting Additive for Portland Cement Products (Type PCS-II),
is a kind of special admixtures for causing portland cement
products and concrete rapid-setting fast-hardening.
It includes type PCS-II-O and type PCS-II-W. When using type
PCS-II-W, the requirement quantity of water will be reduced about
8-15% than type PCS-II-O.
Its color is dusty grey color or grayish-brown color.
Rapid Setting Additive (Type PCS-II) is mainly used in making
Portland cement products or concrete products for example cement
brick, cement board, cement tube, craftworks, europe style
decorative products, etc. It is also used in other ordinary
construction project.
Rapid Setting Additive (Type PCS-II) can be suitable for
Portland Cement series including Portland Cement, Ordinary Portland
Cement, Sulfate Resistant Portland Cement, etc.
Specification
As per China JC744-2005 Standard
1. Uniformity Index
Item | Standard Value | Supplier's Value |
Chlorine Content | less than the largest value controled by the Supplier | Almost 0 |
Total Alkali | Almost 0 |
Fineness (residue on 80um sieve) | 15% Max | About 7-10% |
Water Content | 2% Max | 2% Max |
2. Performance of Cement Paste and Hardened Mortar after
mixing Rapid-setting Additive
| Item | Standard Value | Supplier's Value |
First-grade | Qualified grade |
Cement Paste | Setting Time | min:s, Max | 3:00 | 5:00 | 3:00 |
Setting Time | min:s, Max | 8:00 | 12:00 | 8:00 |
Mortar | Compressive Strength (1d) | Mpa, Min | 7.0 | 6.0 | 10.0 |
Compressive Strength Ratio (28d) | %, Min | 75 | 70 | 100 |
Method of Use
1. Recommended Mixed Quantity: 0.5-6% of cement weight, or to
be adjusted as per the trial test result.
To recommend the basic mixed quantity 3% when starting to use the
PCS-II. Before application every times, it is necessary to do the
trial test in order to confirm the most suitable mixed quantity for
applied cement and other mixing materials.
2. Recommended W/C Ratio: about 0.28-0.4.
3. Recommended Temperature of working and mixing water: above 20
Deg. Centigrade.
4. First to dry mix the PCS-II with cement and aggregate not less
than 30 seconds, then adding the water and mixing more than 3
minutes.
5. The finished cement or concrete products will need to be cured
in the sprinkler.
6. The cement is affected with damp and caked, will not be allowed
to use.
Character
1. Appearance: dusty grey color or grayish-brown color, powder
2. Innocuity, non-burn, without chlorine content, non-corrosion to
reinforcing steel bar
3. Setting Time: after mixing the additive into Portland cement,
following the increase of mixed quantity of additive, the setting
time will be shorter.
4. High Early Strength: after mixing Rapid-setting Additive, the
compressive strength at 1d of the mortar can reach about 14Mpa, and
the late strength will have stable rise. Compressive Strength and
Breaking Strength both will exceed the original Portland Cement
strength value.
5. Distensibility: the free expansion ratio after mixing the
Rapid-setting Additive is higher than original Portland cement.
6. Dry Shrinkage: after mixing the Rapid-setting Additive, the dry
shrinkage ratio each age is lower than the original Portland
cement.
7. Sulfate Resistance: the erosion coefficient of OPC mixed with
Rapid-setting Additive will higher than the original OPC. It shows
the sulfate resistance performance of the OPC with Rapid-setting
Additive excel to the original OPC.
